Children pray for 6 victims of 1995 quake
Children at the city-run Seido Nursery School in Ashiya,
Hyogo Prefecture, western Japan, put pink carnations on the altar of
a cenotaph commemorating five boys and one girl from the school who
were killed in the Great Hanshin Earthquake, as the memorial day
nears for the temblor that hit Kobe and its vicinity Jan. 17, 1995.
More than 6,400 people were killed in the earthquake.
