Mori leaves for trip to Africa, Greece
HANEDA, Japan - Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori waves his hand at Tokyo's Haneda airport on Jan. 7 before leaving for a nine-day trip to South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and Greece as part of Japan's strategic diplomacy to boost ties with countries where high-level contacts have been infrequent. Mori, who will be the first Japanese premier to visit either sub-Saharan Africa or Greece, will arrive in Johannesburg on Jan. 8, after making a stopover in Hong Kong.
