Asa continues march toward title with win over Hakuho
TOKYO, Japan - Grand champion Asashoryu takes another step toward a 20th Emperor's Cup by ousting fellow Mongolian Hakuho at the New Year Grand Sumo Tournament at Ryogoku Kokugikan on Jan. 17. With four days of the 15-day meet remaining, Asashoryu leads rank-and-filer Toyonoshima (9-2) with 10 wins and one defeat. (Kyodo)
