Akihabara pedestrian zone reopened
TOKYO, Japan - People dressed as animation characters celebrate the reopening of a section of a vehicle-free pedestrian zone in Tokyo's Akihabara district, which is popular with shoppers and tourists for its cluster of shops selling electronics gadgets, on Jan. 23, 2011. The pedestrian zone was closed after a man drove a truck into shoppers, hitting and killing three men, and then fatally stabbed four people and left 10 others injured in June 2008. (Kyodo)
