Japan: Shinkansen Bullet Train Derails Due To Powerful Earthquake 2
Powerful magnitude 6.4 and 7.4 earthquakes struck northern Japan at around 11:36 (JST) on Wednesday, March 16, leaving 3 dead and more than 200 injured. The back-to-back quakes were also felt in the capital Tokyo.
A Tohoku Shinkansen bullet train that was running in Miyagi Prefecture derailed due to the quake. 16 of the 17 cars derailed, according to East Japan Railway.
No injuries were reported in this accident.
