The birthday celebrations marked the start of Giant Panda Month at the zoo, which will see lots of special panda-based activities. Born in Madrid Zoo Aquarium, "You You" and "Jiu Jiu" made their first public appearance in March in an event attended by Queen Sofia of Spain and Chinese Ambassador to Spain Wu Haitao.
