STORYLINE:
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi appointed on Thursday Hassan Abdallah as acting governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the presidential office said in a statement.
Abdallah, the CEO of United Media Services company that owns several newspapers and channels in Egypt, replaced Tarek Amer who resigned a day earlier after being appointed as a presidential advisor.
"The Egyptian president instructed Abdallah to create an attractive investment climate and improve the monetary policy to keep up with the global challenges," the statement said.
