STORYLINE:
The number of China-Europe freight trains, including those destined for central Asian countries, passing through the Alashankou and Horgos railway ports in northwest China's Xinjiang has exceeded the mark of 5,000 so far this year, according to China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group Co., Ltd.
As of Wednesday, Xinjiang's Horgos Port handled 2,715 China-Europe freight train trips this year, a year-on-year increase of 22.9 percent.
In terms of the Alashankou Port, 2,317 freight train trips were handled during the same period, up 12.3 percent year on year.
