XR Toulouse Put A Giant Banner To Denounce Pollutions In Ground Waters
A Red Rebel mourns the confiscation by policemen of the banners. Activists from XR put a giant banner reading 'Toulouse waters contaminated, who's protect our ground waters ?' on the Pont-Neuf bridge in Toulouse to denounce the public works industries as they operate gravel quarries in the phreatic tables of the Ariege and Garonne rivers. Red Rebels and Black Rebels played a scene and pay tribute to the Garonne river. However police intervened and forced XR activits to put down the banners. They confiscated the banners and also arrested two XR people amid a crackdown in France on ecologist campaigners. After extracting sand and gravel, they put public works waste in the quarries thus polluting the ground water with aluminium, polystyrene, concrete, etc. These phreatic tables are already running low due to the persistent drought in France and they are used for drinking water of Toulouse amid other towns along the Ariege and Garonne river. This warter is also used for irrigation. Toulouse. France. June 24th 20
