Photo exhibit for 1st Russian consul in Japan under way
HAKODATE, Japan - A ribbon-cutting ceremony is held in Hakodate in the northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido on Sept. 27, 2014, for the start of a photo exhibition marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Joseph Goshkevich, the first Russian consul in Japan who stayed in the city for about seven years from 1858.
