Golden Jackals Cubs - Canis Aureus - Animal India
Two wild golden jackal (Canis aureus) cubs are venturing from the forest to search for food in the Tehatta area of West Bengal, India, on May 15, 2024. They are occasionally being seen playfully chasing birds or monitor lizards for hunting. The golden jackal, the largest of the jackals, is resembling a small wolf but has a comparatively more slender build, shorter legs, and a shorter tail. The jackals' habitat is being reduced due to lack of food and shelter, and the pressure of urbanization. An omnivore is an organism that is eating a variety of other organisms, including plants, animals, and fungi. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
