Bridge bank plan unveiled
Finance Minister Hikaru Matsunaga (L) answers questions by
reporters Thursday July 2 after announcing the Japanese government's
bridge bank plan aimed to salvage the country's financial system
that has been mired by massive bad loans. Masaharu Hino (R), chief of
the newly created Financial Supervisory Agency, assists Matsunaga
during the briefing session at the Prime Minister's official
residence.
