Ruling Golkar party proposes hou
A faction of Indonesia's ruling Golkar party in the People's
Consultative Assembly proposes Saturday Nov. 21 that former President
Suharto be put under house arrest and an independent body be
established to investigate his personal wealth. ''We propose that an
independent body be set up to examine policies taken by former
President Suharto under his government and his personal wealth,''
Marzuki Darusman (R), chairman of the party's faction in the
country's highest constitutional body, said at a news conference in
Jakarta.
