Rengo cancels promised support for LP in elections
Etsuya Washio (L), head of the 8-million-strong Japanese
Trade Union Confederation (Rengo), meets Jan. 28 with Ichiro Ozawa,
(R) leader of the Liberal Party, at the party's headquarters in
Tokyo. Wasio told Ozawa that Rengo will scrap its promised support
for the LP during the upcoming general election after the
establishment of a coalition government between the LP and the
Liberal Democratic Party(LDP).
