Horie begins transpacific voyage aboard recycled yacht
Japanese adventurer Kenichi Horie waves his hand at
well-wishers in San Francisco on March 28 as he begins a solo journey
to Japan from the Golden Gate Bridge aboard the MALT'S Mermaid II, a
yacht made from recycled materials. Horie plans to reach Akashi
Kaikyo Bridge in western Japan, the world's longest suspension
bridge, in early July by way of Hawaii.
