Obuchi addresses local groups at reception in L.A.
Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi speaks at a dinner
reception hosted by six local groups including, the Japan-America
Society, at a hotel in Los Angeles on April 29. In the speech, Obuchi
said Japan and the United States must cooperate closely, as if they
are in a ''three-legged race,'' to bring peace and prosperity to the
Asia-Pacific region. The visit to Los Angeles was Obuchi's first stop
on his weeklong tour of the United States.
