Trial begins in curry-poisoning case
File photos show Masumi Hayashi (L), 37, who is accused of murdering four people and leaving 63 ill last year after they ate curry laced with poison, and her husband Kenji Hayashi (R), 54, who is indicted on fraud charges. They appeared in the Wakayama District Court on May 13 in the first hearing in their trial.
