Japanese adventurer and yachtsman Kenichi Horie waves his right hand aboard the MALT'S Mermaid II yacht in waters near Okinawa Island on June 26 en route for Japan from San Francisco on a solo journey. Horie plans to reach Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in western Japan, the world's longest suspension bridge, in early July.

The city of Mostar marked the 20th anniversary of the restoration of its iconic Old Bridge on Tuesday. Originally built in 1566 in southern BiH, the Old Bridge is a significant example of cultural heritage from the Ottoman Empire and had been destroyed during the Bosnian War in 1993. With the assistance of UNESCO, the World Bank, and various partners, the bridge was reconstructed and reopened on July 23, 2004. Stretching 1,533 meters with a span of 1,145 meters, the Halogaland Bridge, built by China's Sichuan Road and Bridge Group (SRBG), is Norway's second largest and the Arctic Circle's longest suspension bridge.
