Cracked reactor pipe to be cut off July 18 for inspection
TSURUGA, Japan, - Japan Atomic Power Co. will cut off on July 18 a cracked pipe that leaked radioactive water at its Tsuruga nuclear power facility in Fukui Prefecture, about 300 kilometers southwest of Tokyo, on July 12, to investigate the cause of the leakage. Photo shows the L-shaped portion of the pipe connecting regenerated heat exchangers at a containment building housing the facility's No. 2 reactor .
