Huge 'Megafloat' facility about to be completed

YOKOSUKA, Japan - Photo taken Aug. 3 shows a huge ''Megafloat'' facility under construction in waters off Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, which will be used as an experimental floating airport. The facility, 1,000 meters long and 120 meters across at its widest point, will be completed within this month under the Technological Research Association of Megafloat, which consists of four steel companies and 13 shipbuilding companies and is advised by the Transport Ministry.
