Kim implicated in 1st Salt Lake Olympic scandal case
WASHINGTON, United States - A file photo shows South Korean International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Kim Un Yong, who was implicated in the first criminal case filed over the selection of Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The Justice Department said a Utah businessman, who pleaded guilty to tax fraud, helped the son of ''an IOC member'' obtain U.S. permanent residency by giving him a fake job. Sources close to the case said the favor was given to John Kim, the son of Kim Un Yong, seen as a major candidate to become IOC president.
