Monks dust Great Buddha statue
NARA, Japan - Some 240 monks and lay Buddhist followers dust the Great Buddha statue at Todaiji Temple in Nara, on Aug. 7. The bronze statue, completed in 752, is dusted once a year. According to legend, those who get dust from the Great Buddha will be able to avoid misfortune in the next year.
