Microsoft, Softbank, TEPCO plan high-power, low-cost Web service

TOKYO, Japan - (From L to R) Hiroshi Araki, chairman of Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), Masayoshi Son, president of Softbank Corp., and Makoto Narumo, president of the Japan unit of Microsoft Corp. of the United States, announce their agreement to set up a joint venture aimed to offer individuals high-power yet low-cost Internet access at a news conference Aug. 11.
