Ozawa's Liberal Party to stay in coalition gov't

TOKYO, Japan - Liberal Party (LP) leader Ichiro Ozawa (2nd from L) says Aug. 13 his party will stay in the coalition government of Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). The photo was taken before a meeting in which Ozawa and Obuchi(2nd from R) agreed to continue cooperation between their parties. Ozawa had threatened to quit the coalition in a dispute over a bill on Diet seat cuts. Yoshiro Mori (R), secretary general of the LDP, and Hirohisa Fujii (L), secretary general of the LP, also joined the meeting.
