Kyrgyz gov't receives letter signed by Japanese hostages
BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan - This photo is of a letter signed by four Japanese mining engineers taken hostage Aug. 23 by a group of Islamic guerrillas. The guerrillas sent the letter to the Kyrgyz government on Sept. 6. The letter, written in Russian, reads, ''Under the name of Allah, we are fine under the control of Muslim warriors. We request our early release.''
