Nonaka leaves premier's residence
TOKYO, Japan - Hiromu Nonaka, former chief cabinet secretary, bids farewell to employees at Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi's official residence on Oct. 7. Obuchi did not reappoint Nonaka in the Oct. 5 cabinet reshuffle after accepting his request to step down as top government spokesman. Mikio Aoki, secretary general of Liberal Democratic Party lawmakers in the House of Councillors, succeeded Nonaka.
