5 Kyrgyz hostages freed by Islamic rebels
BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan - Kyrgyz lawmaker Tursunbai Bakiruulu talks to reporters in front of his house in Bishkek on Oct. 13 after Muslim rebels holding a number of hostages in southern Kyrgyzstan have released five Kyrgyz nationals. Bakiruulu said that the release of four Japanese hostages can be realized if the Japanese government officially requests him to act as an intermediary.
