Artificially raised sea turtle released to open sea
NAGOYA, Japan - Researchers at an aquarium in Aichi Prefecture on Oct. 17 release a 17-year-old green sea turtle raised in captivity to see how it adapts to living in the ocean. The researchers at Minamichita Beachland Aquarium in the town of Mihama attached an electronic transmitter on the carapace of the female turtle before releasing it into the sea at a beach in the town of Atsumi on the Pacific Ocean coast.
