Japan's largest wind power plant completed in Hokkaido
SAPPORO, Japan - Japan's largest wind power plant was completed in northern Hokkaido on Oct. 19, with 20 windmills set up in the town of Tomamae. The Danish-made turbines, each 72.1 meters high with a generation capacity of 1,000 kilowatts, were installed at a cost of 4.5 billion yen on a 100-hectare site of land leased from the Tomamae municipal government.
