Pickering visits China

BEIJING, China - U.S. Undersecretary of State Thomas Pickering leaves the U.S. Embassy in Beijing on Oct. 27 after arriving in China earlier in the day. Pickering is to meet China's Vice Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Oct. 28 for what embassy officials describe as ''political consultations on strategic and bilateral issues'' as the dust finally settles after China's embassy in Belgrade was hit May 7 during NATO's bombing campaign against Yugoslavia.
