U.N. agencies, NGOs deplore N. Korea's 'aid blocking'
GENEVA, Switzerland - Twenty-one U.N. agencies and nongovernmental organizations operating in North Korea have expressed concern about restrictions to their aid activities in the country, according to a copy of a statement shown in the photo and made available to Kyodo News on Jan. 4. The statement was signed by such bodies as the United Nations Development Program, World Food Program, U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, and the Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere Inc. in Pyongyang on Dec. 11, 1999.
