MOX fuel use to be postponed at Fukushima nuke plant
FUKUSHIMA, Japan - Nobuya Minami (bowing, R), president of Tokyo Electric Power Co., tells Fukushima Gov. Eisaku Sato at the Fukushima prefectual government hall on Jan. 7 that the company will postpone using mixed oxide (MOX) fuel at its nuclear plant in the prefecture, originally scheduled to start in February, causing overall delay in the nation's nuclear fuel program. Minami said the company will use ordinary uranium fuel instead of MOX fuel for the time being.
