Hatoyama calls on DPJ to aim for power
KOBE, Japan - Yukio Hatoyama, leader of the largest opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), pledges efforts on Jan. 16 to capture power from the ruling tripartite coalition. ''It is important for the DJP to tell the public the party has the will and policy to take power on its own,'' Hatoyama said at the outset of a party convention held at a hotel in Kobe, western Japan.
