Russia-Japan summit should be held prior to G-8: Russia

TOKYO, Japan - Visiting Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov (L) tells Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi (R) at a Tokyo hotel on Jan. 22 that a Russia-Japan summit should be held before the Group of Eight (G-8) summit in Okinawa in July. Kasyanov, who also doubles as finance minister, stays here to attend the Group of Seven finance meeting held in Tokyo to explain the Russian economic situation.
