(CORRECTED)Longest vehicle-pedestrian wooden bridge completed
KAGOSHIMA, Japan - The longest wooden bridge in Japan open to both pedestrians and vehicles has been completed in Kimpo, Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Japan. The 42-meter-long, 10-meter-wide bridge will open to traffic Feb. 18. It will retain its position as the longest dual-use bridge only until March next year, when a 55-meter-long wooden bridge is to be completed in the northern prefecture of Akita.
