OSAKA, Japan - Members of the Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF) on March 5 defuse an unexploded bomb in Osaka believed to have been dropped by a U.S. bomber during World War II. The 1-ton dud, measuring 1.8 meters long and 60 centimeters in diameter, was unearthed in January at a residential construction site in the city's Joto Ward, said officials of the GSDF's 3rd Division, based in Itami, Hyogo Prefecture.
