U.S. envoy optimistic about N. Korean official's visit
NEW YORK, United States - Charles Kartman, U.S. special envoy for peace on the Korean Peninsula, speaks to reporters during a break on the third day of talks with North Korea in New York on March 9. Kartman expressed optimism about their being able to reach a settlement for realizing the first-ever visit to Washington by a high-ranking North Korean official in April. He said the talks have been proceeding smoothly and in a friendly atmosphere.
