Int'l group begins 4-day conference on GM foods
CHIBA, Japan - The Ad Hoc Intergovernmental Codex Task Force on Foods Derived From Biotechnology, a body under the 165-member Codex Alimentarius Commission aiming to draw up safety standards for genetically modified (GM) foods, begins its first conference at the Makuhari Messe convention complex in Chiba, east of Tokyo, on March 14. The conference will run for four days.
