Ancient Japanese drugs originated from all over Asia
OSAKA, Japan - Photo released by the Imperial Household Agency shows samples of dried lily bulbs found in Shosoin, a wooden storehouse built in the eighth century at Todaiji Temple in Nara Prefecture. They were used as materials for medicines. The agency's research team specified the places of origin of about 20 medicines and aromatic trees stored in Shosoin and found they originated in regions all over Asia.
