Japan, U.S. continue talks on NTT access fee issue
TOKYO, Japan - Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Richard Fisher (R) walks to a meeting room at the Japanese Foreign Ministry on March 23 to attend high-level deregulation talks on Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp.'s (NTT) access fees. Japan and the United States wrapped up the three-day session later in the day having failed to bridge their differences on the size of planned cuts in interconnection fees NTT charges its competitors. Japan and the United States decided March 22 to extend by one day the talks' original two-day schedule.
