Chinese military chief meets with Kawara

TOKYO, Japan - Gen. Fu Quanyou (L), chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, meets Defense Agency chief Tsutomu Kawara (R) at the agency in Tokyo on April 3. The two discussed the possible start of regular bilateral meetings on defense affairs and the exchange of visits by members of Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force and the Chinese navy. They also discussed China-Taiwan relations and North Korea. Fu arrived in Japan on April 1.
