Putin to meet Japan's new leader in late April
MOSCOW, Russia - Russian President-elect Vladimir Putin (R) shakes hands with Japanese government emissary Muneo Suzuki in Moscow on April 4. Putin agreed to an informal meeting with the new Japanese prime minister sometime between April 28 and 30. Yoshiro Mori, secretary general of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, is likely to be chosen as prime minister April 5, a day after the resignation of the cabinet of Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi, who collapsed April 2 due to a stroke.
