U.S. military's toxic waste returns to Yokohama amid protests

YOKOHAMA, Japan - The Wan He, a Panamanian-registered cargo ship carrying a shipment of toxic waste from U.S. military facilities in Japan returns to Yokohama port April 18 after being turned away by Canada and the United States. Some 150 members of Greenpeace and other civic groups gathered at Hommoku Pier to protest the return of the 65,140-ton ship to the port located southwest of Tokyo.
