Satellite images question China's military threat to Taiwan
WASHINGTON, United States - China's combat aircraft pose less of a threat to Taiwan than generally believed, high-resolution commercial-satellite images released May 12 show. U.S. scientists released the findings at a news conference in Washington. The scientists displayed satellite images of Chinese airfields situated within striking distance of Taiwan. The images were bought from Space Imaging, a U.S. company that launched the Ikonos satellite last fall. The photo is courtesy of Space Imaging.
