Beijing students protest over rape-murder
BEIJING, China - Hundreds of students stage a sit-in at Beijing University on May 24 to protest administrators who waited three days to inform them that a classmate had been raped and killed. The students demanded to meet with university President Xu Zhihong. Excluding those organized by the government, it was the biggest gathering at Beijing University since the 1989 pro-democracy demonstrations that led to the Tiananmen Square massacre June 4, 1989.
