WTO chief hails Japan's capacity-building initiative
DARWIN, Australia - Japanese International Trade and Industry Minister Takashi Fukaya (L) shakes hands with World Trade Organization (WTO) Director General Mike Moore at the start of their talks in Darwin, Australia on June 5. Moore hailed Japan's proposal for industrialized countries to help developing ones meet their WTO commitments, saying it would help build confidence needed for an early launch of a new round of multilateral trade talks.
