Aircraft belly-lands during training in Hokkaido

SAPPORO, Japan - A training aircraft lands on its belly June 21 at Obihiro airport in Hokkaido while practicing takeoffs and landings in a program run by the Transport Ministry's Civil Aviation College. The A-36 Beachcraft, piloted by a 24-year-old student at the college's Obihiro Branch Campus, apparently failed to lower its wheels.
