N. Korea's Kim Jong Il interested in joint Korean sports team
SEOUL, South Korea - Kim Un Yong, chairman of the South Korean Olympic Committee (KOC), says June 21 that North Korean leader Kim Jong Il showed a ''strong interest'' in fielding a joint Korean team in international sports events during South Korean President Kim Dae Jung's landmark three-day summit visit to Pyongyang last week. The KOC's Kim, who accompanied the president on the trip, made the remark in an exclusive interview with Kyodo News in Seoul.
