Media shown new mosque, Japan's largest
TOKYO, Japan - Representatives explain the features of Japan's newest and largest mosque, located in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward, to the media June 26. Construction of the Tokyo Camii mosque was paid for by the Turkish government, and many of its construction materials, including tiles and stone, were imported from the country. The mosque, which opens to worshippers July 3, replaces the original structure that was built in 1937 by ethnic Turks from the former Soviet Union.
