AOC investigates doping claims after drugs confession
SYDNEY, Australia - John Coates, president of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), announces at a news conference in Sydney on July 5 that the AOC is investigating claims its own officials have been involved in the systematic doping of Olympic athletes after allegations by a former Olympian came to light that day. Seoul and Barcelona Olympic discus thrower Werner Reiterer writes in his new book, Positive, that he passed an Australian Sports Drug Agency (ADSA) doping test nine months out from this autumn's Sydney Games, despite using eight banned substances at the time.
